explanation: BOS has just signed rask to a big extension, and thus needs to move thomas. i'm not set on anderson as my starter, and also need to take on cap to get to the cap floor. BOS gets a great return with a young blooming goalie as well as two great depth players.

I accept. I signed Rask and promised him he would be my starter. Thomas is still a starter, but just not in Boston. I lose cap, I get a young back-up, and I get some depth. PR has been contacted about Thomas' NTC.

Thomas is still a star goalie, it doesn't matter his age.

at most, timmy plays another 2yrs. and like boston said, he had to trade him, and ur right that daugvins and gilroy are plugs, but in 2yrs, lehner could be an 84. hes one of the top goalie prospects in the league

He also could get MUCH better offers.

It's like Sens trading Nash to me for Alzner. Alzner will get better and has more time left in the league... So it's fair.

It's a shit trade for Boston, it shouldn't go through, and if this does, the league needs to re-evaluate their staff.

Accept. I wouldnt do this as Ottawa, and the majority of the teams have their goaltending figured out, so really Thomas doesnt have that much value.

cap dump pretty much for boston. when u think about it oilers is right. almost every team has their goaltending figured out. when u factor in thomas age, being so close to retirement, and boston losing so much cap for a player that would be his backup, its fair. i dont think anyone else was interested in timmy cuz he put him OTB when he got eliminated and no interest was shown. this is the besy he could do

Caps if you think its so bad come up with an offer thats better? He practically PMed all of who would be interested in Timmy, and didn't get any better offers. He needs the cap space, and Thomas will last one more season. I agree its not the greatest trade for Boston but I sure as hell wouldn't offer more for Timmy right now.
