- Free buyouts will only occur for players UNDER 2M
- Players can now be bought out or put on waivers
- If a player is bought out, he is automatically bought out and becomes a free agent, they cannot be claimed
- Players that are bought out will have 1/4 of their cap retained by the team buying them out for the remainder of the contract
- Players that are placed on waivers can be claimed. The process remains the same, 24 hours put on waivers. If the player is claimed, the waiving team pays no penalty
- If the player clears waivers, the waiving team must pay 1/3 of the cap for the remaining SEASON
- Players that clear waivers must be put back on waivers at the beginning of the next season if they wish to be placed in the minors again
- If a team wishes to call-up a player that cleared waivers, they must put them on re-entry waivers. If they are claimed, the penalty for that season is waived
Each team will have 2 amnesty buyout to be used by the end the 2015-16 off-season. This a free buyout, so teams would not pay a penalty for that player
Players 1M and under and RFA's do not have to go through waivers to be sent down to minors.
