It isn't as much about OA as it is about why Pens would decide to do this. Datsyuk is done in another year so why give up a youngster like Galy for him? I want an explanation from Pitts.

At this point I don't even care if it goes through, cuz IMO I'm over paying. You guys are focusing way too much on Datsyuk. He may be old, but he's still a major asset. I guarantee if you ask Caps, you'd see that last year he was a leader on my team for scoring and +/-, and likely a league leader in takeaways.
Edler and Kesler are no slouches. Even if it was broke down like this...
Kesler 87, Datsyuk 85 = Galch 87 Edler 87, Lombardi 81 = Hamonic 84, Sutter 83 Jaskin 80 = Pouliot 80
3rd is insignificant and can be placed anywhere
If any of that looks unfair... you're high on crack brothers.

Age is a factor in trading, but the guy is also gaining 5 OA's aswell as an extra player whos an 81.

Sutter isn't a RFA. But I gotta reject, VAN gets 4 young guys, adding Lombardi is essentially nothing. Look at Pens Centers, they're stacked already, now they're adding 2 more with Kes and Edler. If this were 3 seasons ago, I think I would accept. But Datsyuk is gonna retire PDQ. I think a young guy should go Pens way rather then Lombardi.

Where is Pens. Give a reasoning for this. Does he just blindly agree to trades?

Didn't realize any of that before he agreed to the offer.
Mind boggling.
