LW Brendan Morrow 83 PWF 6.000M UFA 2016 NMC
Buyout. To FA if clears. From what I understand, a NMC does not prevent buying out a player.

NTCs you can waive butou can't waive a player with a NMC.

A no-move clause means a player cannot be traded, waived for a claim by another team, or assigned to the minors without his consent. This does not protect the player from a buyout.
Via Capgeek. I am buying him out. So would that mean he just goes straight to FA? No opportunity for a team to claim him.

not sure about this, usually if someone buys out a player, he goes on waivers first. sim league buyout rules are different from NHL buyout rules. We have "free buyouts" so they usually have to go on waivers when you buy them out. In the nhl no waivers, but they dont have "free" buyouts.
So unless you actually want to buy him out and pay some of his cap, i dont think we can allow this.
I will talk to the mods though, and we will decide.

unless you want a third of his contract against your salary cap you're stuck with him.

Fair enough. I'll contact PR and ask him to waive his clause so I can put him on waivers? That will work, correct?

lol Yah, IF he'll waive to be put on waivers... He'll more likely ask to be traded though.
