Alright guys, so we banged our heads together and we've bringing in something which we have not seen before. We are calling it "Goaltender Upgrades". A lot of us are goaltender buffs, but realistically when we use our upgrades nobody wants to use their MLU or MPU on a goalie when you have a young sniper waiting in the minors. Therefore, Quest has brought in Francois Allaire to help with the progress of your goaltender, so that young goalie waiting in the wings can step up and lead your team! There will be kinks to work out along the way, but these rules are important to keep in mind! The Rules: No goaltender can be <76, so if you have one rated below this you need to get him to a 76 before you can GU him. If your goalie is below 76 you must MLU him first, then you may use your GU. You cannot MLU him after you GU him. You may only MLU before a GU to a max of 76, then GU him. So for example, if Chris Mason is a 74, he would not be eligible for a GU unless you MLU him to a 76 first. Then you are able to GU him in the same season.
However, if Chris Mason is already a 76, and you GU him to a 78, you CANNOT use an MLU the same season. There are NO AGE LIMITS. Finally, just so its realistic you can have a choice between one of the two options, only ONE goalie per season. If your goaltender is rated 76 - 79 you can give them a +2. If your goaltender is rated 80 - 83 you give them a +1. Ex. Tuukka Rask 83 + 1 = 84 ; J.F. Does the goalie have to be an 84 or less? Any goalie between 76 to 84 is eligible. So 84 or less and 76 or higher |

Here's a question:
Can I MLU an 81 goalie to an 82, then use goaltender upgrades to make him an 84?

Although I like this idea. I think this'll really inflate the goaltenders, especially if you can MLU and GPU a goalie in the same year. I already can make Demko an 81 by only using 3 OA.
I think that + 4 is waaaay to much for 76-79 OA goalies.

Carter Hutton 80 +1 = 81 Don't even start to break my heart, Kruze, I had a great mindset, knew me and you would like the idea and hoped that others would too, but I'm only one voice amongst 30. No one else wanted it, said it'd ruin the league, but A) no one ever trades goalies nor do they trade for a goalie. Goalies fuckin suck in sim leagues and have 0 value to anyone so I figured this might help, and B) we never make it past 3 off seasons before the new game comes out in any league so it'll take a while to "ruin" the league. I agree this implemented upgrade is stupid. But I'm 1 guy. |

Dear God!! Lmao :-P "Ruin" they're scorers...  |

Either that or we just take away goalies salaries altogether, because a guy like Lundqvist 93 has no more value than an Eddie lack, and it's not just on sim sites, it's fuckin EA. A better goalie doesn't mean anything and it pisses me off, EA fucking grinds my gears, why have a 93 OA goalie when a 79 guy is good enough to win the cup. |
