In the NHL, if a team is eliminated in the first two rounds, the draft order is based off of season results. Since the Leafs did well in the season, it didn't matter if they lost in the first or second round, they would still pick 26th. If they made conference finals, 27 or 28, Stanley cup finals at 29 and champ at 30
