Obviously I have no say, but that's not a reason to go out and take on these type of contracts, when you have some create deals with very similar players, one of which is arguably more valuable then Benn based on the contract and age.

Just cause he has the cap space it doesn't mean that what he is gaining is a lot of money. He loses 6M in cap space for a tiny upgrade. The point of a cap dump (which is what Philly is definitely doing here) for the team gaining the money is for them to get a good upgrade which isn't shown here. They get younger and a 2nd. That doesn't look 6M worthy to me.

Ya I lose cap this season, but Baertschi will want a heft raise this offseason. I'm giving 2 players that are on long term deals for 2 guys that aren't, think about that too

He has value it's just that he costs to much and it makes it harder for teams to pay for his large cap.

Ya the cap went up but as the cap goes up we pay more and more so we have no cap space. The point of the cap going up is to give the GMs a little bit of cap to work with.
