TO:  D Tyler Myers TWD 86 - $5.500M (UFA 2019) {NMC} D Mark Pysyk DFD 72 - $0.800M (UFA 2015) TO:  RW Ales Hemsky 83 PLY - $3.000M (UFA 2016) D Jeff Petry 83 DFD - $3.000M (UFA 2017) 3rd (2015) The Oilers are extremely excited to bring the big Texan to Edmonton, but this wasn't a hugely easy decision, both Hemmer & Peets have been integral parts of our success recently, and the intent was to keep them around for the forseeable future as it's not our common practice to sign extensions and trade but when the opportunity to land a big player like Tyler Myers comes along, you pounce on it. The Oilers thank both Hemmer & Petry for their services over the years and wish them all the best in the future. Accepts.

Welcome to Oil Country! ;D lol You have 1 accept. And I'm gonna reject. Don't know why anyone would want Hemsky, especially in a deal for Myers. Myers is Buffalo's top defenseman, and he's still extremely young, and Pysyk one of their top defensive prospects. This trade really doesn't make sense, especially cause Hemsky will be downgraded soon. Myers has a lot more values then 2 scrub players from EDM. Buffalo could get a lot more. If it was J. Schultz instead of Petry it would be a good deal, especially cause Buffalo is full of DFD's. Not enough at all for Sabers. Hope other mods can see that |

If you shopped Myers a bit more, you could've gotten a lot better PLY on the wing. You know that right? I would've started with Perron if you gave time for other GM's to make you offers |

I'm just saying that Hemsky is probably gonna be downgraded within the next couple of seasons. And you probably could've gotten a young RW PLY, a guy like Nylander or something for Myers. Myers can land you a top RW PLY if you shopped him for a day or so |

For me, I like this deal for my team. now if it does get rejected, whatever i guess I have to find a new deal, but if it get's accepted. even better, it's a deal that i want to do.

I don't like the deal for Buffalo, but it's not as bad of a deal as Fasth going for an AHL jobber and a couple picks.
Sabres coulda got better value if he shopped, but I still think the deal on paper is good enough to accept. Chalk one up for Kruze on this one.

Points last season: Hemsky 10-41-51 Petry 0-24-24 Now granted, Petry getting only 24 points is no screaming hell except when you consider that he's a DFD and was a TWD in NHL 13. But Hemsky on the otherhand, if he's as shitty as you claim, then how is it that he was in the top 4 in scoring on my team, ahead of Eberle & only 6 points behind Hartnell? Your contention is baseless. Hemsky is 31 (game time) not 34 or 35 dude. I dunno what your base of him getting downgraded in a couple seasons is from. He won't and shouldn't get downgraded for atleast 5 seasons if you folks are actually smart, but the fact is that I'm talking to the guy that figures all players are useless after 30; which is extremely sad. And btw Petry's only 27 and Myers is 24 aswell. This is isn't a horrible deal. You've accepted and we've let WAY worse deals than this through, despite any objection I may have had about it. Honestly rk, I think you have more of a problem with the fact that I was able to make this deal than anything else. |
